Load ‘N Go™
Nitro’s class-exclusive LOAD ‘N GO™ cargo floor (standard on SXT) slides out over the rear bumper to make loading heavy or awkward items easier. With a whopping 181 kg capacity and six cargo tie-downs, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Rear Cargo Bin/Tray
Nitro SX’s reversible rear cargo tray provides the best of both worlds with two alternative cargo configurations in the spacious rear hatch area. One side is a flat floor for easy loading and unloading of large, bulky cargo. Flip it over and you can store loose or smaller items within the moulded tray to help keep things from rolling around and getting damaged or lost.

Cargo Tie-Downs
Six articulating tie-downs attached to the cargo load floor help ensure safe and secure transportation of cargo weighting up to 181 kg. When not in use, they fold out of the way.

Centre Console
Nitro’s front centre floor console with upper and lower storage trays help organise and store your stuff out of sight and out of mind. The lower bin can hold up to 13 DVD cases, and the removable upper tray with integral coin storage area is designed to hold a mobile phone, MP3 player, or other electronic device. An elastic strap on the side can secure maps, receipts, or your increasing collection of parking tickets.

Glove Box Storage
Big hands or small, you’ll love Nitro’s large illuminated glove box. It packs just about anything you toss in, and also serves as a knee blocker for improved front-passenger protection in the event of an impact.

Covered Compartment
Nitro offers storage space in virtually every nook and cranny, so you don’t have to worry about breaking out the old parachute pants when you want to bring some extra things along for the ride.

An Infinity® Premium Sound System with eight speakers, subwoofer, and 368-watt DSP amplifier is standard on Nitro SXT models to power tunes played on the AM/FM stereo, six-disc CD changer, or MyGIG™ Multimedia Infotainment System*.

Every Nitro has a standard auxiliary stereo input jack for direct connection to your Apple iPod* or other portable MP3 device. That means no more clumsy cassette tape adaptors or unreliable FM transmitters the next time you feel like playing mobile DJ.

Front-Passenger Fold-Flat Seating
Nitro’s front low-back bucket passenger seat isn’t just comfortable, it’s also versatile with class* - exclusive fold-flat capability for easy storage of long items. The moulded front passenger seatback can be used as a utility table when the seat is folded to keep your laptop or other items within easy reach on the road.

 

Tyre-Pressure Monitor
Maintaining proper tyre pressure helps improve performance and fuel economy, and more importantly, helps keep you and your passengers safe. Nitro features a standard tyre-pressure monitoring warning lamp that works quickly to alert drivers if under or over-inflated tyre pressure is detected in any wheel. The SXT model features a tyre-pressure monitoring display that shows the actual pressures of each tyre in the Electronic Vehicle Information Centre (EVIC).

Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
Electronic Stability Program* is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicles during extreme steering manoeuvres, ESP senses when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer) or plough (understeer), and attempts to correct the vehicle’s course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels.

Braking
Nitro’s standard four-wheel-disc antilock brake system (ABS) with brake assist helps prevent wheel lockup for shorter stopping distances and improved control under extreme braking or slippery conditions.
